The new model is longer than the BMW 7-Series and Mercedes S-Class and has some design similarities to the Hongqi H9.

Great Wall Motors is getting ready to introduce another EV brand and unveiled its first model in the form of a luxurious long sedan.

The new brand will be code-named ZX and will target the high-end market segment for the Chinese market. A preview sketch of the new luxury sedan has surfaced that seems to be a bit similar to a Hongqi H9 and is larger in size.

Some of the features visible at the rear of new top-range EV from Great Wall are large LED taillights resembling those of the H9 that run down the grille as well as along the rear quarter panels. As this is just a design sketch, the vehicle is shown to be wearing a huge set of wheels, but a more sensible car for production will probably be a little less garish. With this in mind, we will not be surprised to see the car to roll out on 22- or 23-inch wheels.

This inspiration from the H9 seems to continue hit the sides where there is a prominent chrome accent running along the bottom of the doors and then running diagonally up the front quarter panel. Chrome elements do not end here but continue with the window surrounds and the thin wing mirrors, which still visible to the front of the vehicle are slim LED head lights.

Other than that, it is not known for much else, but it will be 5.5m (18ft) in length which is more than the H9 which spans 5.1m (17ft). Likewise, it’ll be more significant than the BMW i7 and Mercedes-Benz S-Class and will have massive interior area. However, the car portrayed shows a very long hood that seems to be even an awkward design feature for a car which is to be sold only as an EV.

It is expected that Great Wall Motors will present a preview of the new vehicle at the Beijing Auto Show in April, with the production model set to debut in the fourth quarter.
